Another man died today,
What is there to say?
He died for your freedom, and
You’ll never get to meet him.

A great Soldier in heavens above…

He was a good man…
A great husband, son and father.
He left behind a 4 year old boy.
He will never wonder why
His dad is no longer alive.

That boy will become a great Soldier too,
He’ll fight just as his dad did.
He’ll fight for you and fight for me,
That’s what he was destined to be.

Another mother buried her son,
A man that died too young.
Looking up to sunny skies,
He’s around you; he’s in your grandkid,
He’s the spirit that keeps you alive.

A great Soldier in heavens above…

Another brother lost in the battle,
Have to keep pushing onward.
Kill the enemy that took our friend,
They’ll all go down in the end.

Protecting our homeland day and night,
On land, water and in flight.
Keeping our families safe,
As they hope to god and pray.

They’ll make it back home,
And some will be alone.
Make all the men and women proud,
The ones that have died
Serving our country proud.

Another soldier...
Another sad day...
Another second in which
Someone's life is changed.
